If I'm at a business and someone starts shooting at me as they wear body armor, I'd appreciate if a bystander would join in an ending the threat. I think everyone would agree that civilian interference wouldn't help when the scene is relatively under control.
I see, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying you are/were an officer.
