I'm not in favor of signing a free agent just for the heck of it. Free agency should be used to fill holes, and the only reason you should sign a player who doesn't fill a need would be if they were a true, rare, difference-maker like Suh.
Stocking your team by signing free agents is a bad plan because you wind up with a team of old, expensive players. Terrence Knighton doesn't fill a need and he isn't a great player. Plus, he'll be 29 when the season starts. |
