I've thought long and hard about what to do with the number one pick, and here it is. This is assuming number two doesn't want to trade up with us.
Trade down to three for a boatload of picks. The top three of this draft - Teddy, Mariota, and Clowney - each have outstanding potential at a position of need. This, coupled with the overall wretched state of our roster and the possibility of future first round picks, makes trading down an appealing option. I hear you all: "But Kodiak, we thought you loved Teddy? Didn't you gush over him in your breakdowns?" Well yes, I do, and I did. Teddy is still an absolutely phenomenal prospect. However, Marcus Mariota's potential makes Teddy's extra polish negligible, and Clowney's supreme talent is comprable to or in excess of either of the others'. No matter how we slice it, we will be getting a game changer in the top three. Extra first rounders is icing on the case. Rest easy, Jags fans. Talent is coming.
