The Mossad indeed said Bibby was over reaching. He did claim the same thing in 1996. He is in an election year, it was a campaign move. It may work. It worked for W when our safety as a nation was about to collapse.

George W won his second term not because of the safety of our nation, but because the Democrats chose an unlikable flip flopper to go against him.  Edwards, in hindsight, was a bad choice for veep too.  John Kerry had less charisma than a piece of cardboard.  


First car bomb (according to wikipedia!) was done by Armenian separatists, though the concept has been around much longer than that.  You have the Wall Street Bombing in 1920 and the Bath School disaster in 1927 (according to wiki it was likely the first suicide car bombing in history)
