Unfortunately this has in essence been the case. Especially, knee injuries.

Louis Delmas is one of the most dedicated/ passionate players in the NFL.    But there's only so much his body can take. Delmas doesn't exactly have one of the bigger frames for a Safety.

When Delmas was with the Lions, he was held out of practice frequently in order to try to get him physically ready for Sundays.    The downside is this led to Delmas getting out of position too often.    I wish him the best but realistically,   there are more efficient ways of using a 53 man roster spot at this stage of his career.
