While I agree in general terms, where this team will likely miss him the most is in the coming years.  Hopefully, we'll finally have our franchise QB in Bridgewater.

 

It would help his development tremendously if he had a clean and sober Blackmon catching his passes.

 

But anyone waiting for Blackmon to turn it around is like Linus in the pumpkin patch eagerly awaiting the Great Pumpkin.

 

Yeah, I re-read my last line...  Again, I think that's just me trying to cope with the loss of Blackmon.  There's a term for what I'm thinking, but for some reason I can't put my finger on it...  Rationalizing!  That's what I'm doing.  :thumbsup:

 

I agree, a clean and sober JB would be a huge benefit to this team in the future.  But I don't see this happening.  Not that it is impossible.  But this guy is on a path that I don't think the Jags can help.  Hes the type of person that needs to go through a "Ricky Williams" type journey.  He needs to get out of the NFL and really focus on his issues.  The NFL doesn't seem to be a good place for someone with a taste for depressants...  Think of all the painkillers that must be hanging around the locker room...  It's just a matter of time when a player with an addiction who's sore and taking some pain killers doesn't decide to take a toke or a drink... 

 

He needs out, I hate to say it.  If we try to keep him, it's only a matter of time before he relapses.  Of course I hope I'm wrong!  I would hope that he turns into a Chris Carter type story...  But even that story only began after his original team dumped him...  again, #becauseJaguars
