This club needs to go young, via draft..

 

That's why I wouldn't be too opposed to bringing him in.  He is too cost prohibitive for most teams to bid on him.  Reduced competition means reduced cost to obtain him.  He is also too old to be looked at as anything more than a bandaid, and would fit perfectly for 2-3 years while Gurley gets healthy, learns the game, and fills in a complimentary role, similar to what MJD did.

 

Murray, on the other hand, would have cost a lot of guaranteed money, which Peterson wouldn't, and could be looked at as more than a bandaid.  I would fear that there would be the temptation to pass on someone like Gurley if Murray was on the roster.  I don't get that same trepidation if it were to be Peterson on the roster.
