as for the constitution only governing religious people that's hogwash. Plenty of the founding fathers where agnostic, especially for there time. If anything they where seeking freedom from a religious state.

 

Look I'm religious but let's not white wash history here it only discredits any credible argument you might be trying to make.

let's not re-write it either. The primary reason for people coming to America was to flee religious persecution in Europe. As for the statement that the constitution was written with people who fear God in mind and not a wholly secular society, I suggest you recheck your recent history and the arguments being made to alter the constitution to better fit a 'modern' society. That the Pledge of Allegiance may have been created by someone who didn't have the best interest of this country at heart when he wrote it does not alter the fact that the Pledge has been a cornerstone of what the nation has stood for... even if 'one nation under God' has become a joke.
