As for the statement that the constitution was written with people who fear God in mind and not a wholly secular society, I suggest you recheck your recent history and the arguments being made to alter the constitution to better fit a 'modern' society. That the Pledge of Allegiance may have been created by someone who didn't have the best interest of this country at heart when he wrote it does not alter the fact that the Pledge has been a cornerstone of what the nation has stood for... even if 'one nation under God' has become a joke.
