I just don't see too many people going out of their daily routine to watch the Buffalo/Jax game.  If it was a better game a lot more people would do it.

 

Oh I just thought he was talking about the Jags games. You're right a lot of people more than likely won't go out of their way to see it, but what it does is provides a good test subject for the NFL.

 

Those who are in the home markets, who likely will make up a large portion of the viewers regardless of how the game is shown, will still get it on their televisions which help mitigate the losses from an advertising standpoint.  It'll also effectively mark out a large portion of the viewers from the test, those outliers who are interested enough to actually watch it from their computers will provide a good metric on the viability for such a service when they see the demand for it on their servers.  

 

It's actually a smart move because a more marquee team may skew the numbers.
