I see it similarly to you.

 

I don't see Fowler as this great run defender that some of you see.  I also don't see him as a great pass rusher.  He hasn't made a ton of splash plays so I can't call him a playmaker.

 

He doesn't look like the best defensive player in this year's draft.  

 

He's not an elite talent IMO.  Beasley is an elite pass rusher, but I question if he brings the all-around game.  I would be OK with taking him at #3.  To me, the elite talents are Amari Cooper and Leonard Williams, so I'd go with one of them at #3.

 

Pass rush wise, would Fowler give us much more than Ryan Davis?  They are very similar physically.  Fowler had the better 40 time but the more important measurables like the vertical, broad, and 3-cone were pretty much the same.

 

Davis went undrafted.  He was also 6'2-6'3ish and 260 lbs
