He did indeed.

 

He called Bush's running the deficit up by $4 trillion in 8 years as unpatriotic when he took out a credit card backed by money borrowed from China and took the deficit from $5 to $9 trillion in 8 years.  I guess it was okay to run it up to more than $18 trillion over the next 5 years using that same China financed credit card.

He promised the most transparent administration in the history of this nation.  That's worked out pretty well.

 

He said that he would work to reverse the trend to give more power to the executive branch by reversing the trend under the Bush administration to use executive orders and signing statements to either create laws, or to redefine the way they are enforced.

 

He promised to make the Veterans Administration a national leader in healthcare reform.  That's been a stellar success. 

 

He promised the most scandal free, ethical administration ever.  Thank goodness the media has avoided digging into anything.

 

This is just the tip of the iceberg.  He made a lot of promises.
