Quote:Every corporate tax cut, every corporate subsidy, every corporate no bid private contract, every cut in the capital gains tax is a redistribution of wealth from middle class to the rich.

Now hold on, you're argument is that not collecting a tax is equal to government spending. Corporate taxes for example you can argue they should be higher they should be lower, but you can't say not collecting them is income redistribution. That money is not being collected from the middle class and then given to the corporation, that money is spent by the consumer for the service or product offered by the corporation.

As for corporate subsidies yes I agree that is income redistribution and has no place in our economy or that government even has the authority to do such an act.

No bid contracts once again we agree it's wrong, I guess you could call that income redistribution since government is using tax funds to pay for it. But then you have to accept the argument that all government spending is redistribution which again I'm fine with that argument.

As for the capital gains, that's another issue where you're arguing taxes not collected isn't revenue that belongs to the government, it belongs to the private party. Now if you want to argue for or against capital gain taxes that's fine but it's not income redistribution when it's not collected, that would suggest all income belongs to the state and we as private individuals are only owed what the state authorizes us to keep. Also keep in mind capital gains is pretty much double dipping a revenue stream, it's a really gray area that is only "accepted" because they package it as a tax on the rich, however that's not the case.
