While they may not have attacked anyone, they prohibited others from lawfully displaying their own. I don't believe that they should be deported, however. What they didn't isn't protected by the First Amendment. Who's defending the protesters actions? The idea they should be deported for (allegedly) saying Unamerican things was what drew criticism, as it should. Because people have a right to say things we don't like.
