Is America's Pastime Dying a Slow Death?
|
Quote:The average baseball score for a nine inning game is nine total runs, so you're looking at 5-4, 6-3, 8-1, 7-2 etc. There is more scoring on average than hockey or soccer, but the pace of the games make it very interesting. I do think that is one of the main factors of the decline. It's just a slow game. I can understand how people can find it slow. You really have to be into the numbers and situations to stay in the game. However, it is interesting to note that other than the seven inning stretch, the game never really stops. Not so with any of the other major sports.
