Thats a premium position and a player that is still young. Sorry, but thats worth more than just a 4th & a 5th. 

 

It's quite obvious that he wasn't regarded as a top 10 LT.

I think his true value was that of a "decent LT" capable of helping a team in need.  Nobody saw Monroe as a franchise LT or a building block for the future. 

 

If they did, A) we would have gotten more for him, and B) we would have kept him or at least tried to keep him.

 

I think most people here will be surprised once he hits Free Agency.  He will find a job, sure, but he won't get some astronomical number as a "top 10 LT that is young" would get.
