While you could certainly question whether Hardy was presumptuous purporting to take a leadership role considering he just got there, hasn't played a down for the team, and as it stands now, won't play a down until week 12 or so, that may not be a negative reflection of his character, absent any other information.

 

  If Greg Hardy didn't have a character history,  I wouldn't have thought twice about what occurred with his new teammate.    But the history is very difficult to overlook.   Very few players would have gotten into a verbal confrontation with a teammate shortly after joining a team and having a 10 game suspension hanging over him.    At minimum,  Hardy used bad judgment.  

 

  It's going to be interesting to see how the existing leaders on the Cowboys react to this situation.   This is a team that won the NFC East Title in 2014 and came close to advancing to the NFC Championship game.   One thing that we have seen destroy many teams over the years is the lack of team chemistry.  As talented as Hardy is,   he already is making a case that the team is better off w/o him.  Especially,  when considering the money invested in Hardy could have been used in a different manner.
