Ziggy Ansah has a very good feel for the game,   despite only playing organized football since walking on to the BYU team in 2010.      Ansah has made a number of key subtle plays that don't show up on the stat sheet.      One thing that's really impressed me is his hustle.     In that sense,  he reminds me of a young Kyle Vanden Bosch.    He's a relentless player,  with tremendous physical skills     Ansah's explosiveness has led to a number of forced fumbles,   including two that were negated by him being offside.     

 

In recent games though,   skilled LT's have negated Ansah's pass rush to a large extent.    It's understandable,  considering he's a rookie who clearly has plenty to learn about the RDE position and D-Line play in general.         As a run defender,  Ansah has been an asset much more than a liability.     Considering Ansah's background and that he suffered a concussion in the 3rd pre-season game,   he's exceeded my expectations for the first half of his rookie season.     For rookies,   practice time is essential.     I was pleasantly surprised at how well he started the season considering he missed close to 2 weeks of practice back in late August/  early September.
