Fowler and Williams are both limited athletically (especially Fowler) so the youth argument isn't as strong. Experience will help, and they probably will get stronger sure, but Fowler isn't going to suddenly gain change of direction skills or more explosion. What we've seen is largely what he is going to be.

I'm pretty sure every athlete continues to work on explosion throughout their careers and it is something that most definitely can be improved on.


And why does his change of direction skills matter so much, he's not gonna be in space much as he'll be rushing the passer.


Idk if I ever see Fowler being a Robert Quinn or Jason Taylor type passrusher who wins with incredible bend and athleticism. I don't see that in Beasley either even though you've been in love with the guy.


Daniel Jeremiah gave a good comparison to Ryan Kerrigan. I can Fowler becoming something like that or even somebody like Aaron Kampman who wasn't the most explosive athlete but won with good strong hand placement and non stop motor. Guys can be great pass rushers in different ways with different styles.


I know a Kerrigan comp might not excite the masses but check his sack totals from last season and tell me you wouldn't want that from any DE on this team.
