On your Vontae Davis point (although he was horribly burned by Andre) he always had the physical skills and therefore it's understandable that he got significantly better with more playing time.

 

Trent Richardson is slow, i'm not sure how playing more games and getting beat up more will make him faster or more agile.

 

Also, another point to add in there: Marshawn Lynch's last years in Buffalo he was not impressive at all. His first season in Seattle he didn't looked good at all (similar to Richardson). Lynch is a beast now and has been for the past 2-3 years.

 

What I'm trying to say here, is sometimes it takes time for players to adjust after being thrown onto a new team (especially DURING a season). Will Richardson turn it around like Lynch & Vontae did? Or will he continue the path he's on? Nobody knows and the only thing that can answer that is time.
