here here!

 

1.) The psi of a football is inherently dynamic.  Any attempt by the league especially in cold weather games to passively control (one inspection before the game) the psi with any accuracy flies in the face of plain scientific fact.

 

2.) Based on the measurements of one gauge used on the patriots footballs at halftime of the AFC Championship the Recorded PSI falls within the expected range given the temperature difference on the field as set forth by the league consultants, and this gauge to the best of the officials recollection was the one he used for his pre-game inspection.  So by the admission of the league consultants and the testimony of the game official there isn't any proof that the balls were deflated, text messages be darned.

 

3.) It is a violation of the same rule that the pats were sanctioned under for a team to use a gauge on a game ball for any reason during the game which the colts violated by gauging the ball intercepted by the colts, and this is after Jaguars personnel previously caught the colts with needles and gauges during one of their games and the colts were warned so in essence this is their second proven violation of the above rule not "more probable than not having general knowledge"

 

4.) The investigation and the NFL disregard the fact that during a Jets Game the officials violated the same playing rules and over inflated the game balls by nearly three pounds which incited one of the text threads between McNally and Jastremski. 

 

5.) for a comparison of culture, you had  Tom Brady going PSYCHO tom on Jastremski and the entire equipment staff because the balls were terrible due to officals over inflating them and they couldn't do anything about it.  They didn't pull out a secret needle or a gauge during the game because they understood such a thing would be a violation of league rules.  The colts on the other hand just have gauges and needles ready and able in case they need them.  This alone given their prior history destroys the idea of difference in psi drop having to due with pats tampering and not potential colts tampering. 

 

6.) When measuring the colts footballs at halftime, the first time that they got to a football that averaged below league limits THEY STOPPED MEASURING FOOTBALLS.  Think about that.  Ball 4 on measured at 12.55 and 12.15 psi respectively, and then we get this malarkey about running out of time.  Keep in mind two things.  1.) the start of the game had already been delayed ten minutes so a few more wouldn't hurt if you're really in the middle of an objective sting.  2.) The entire foundation of the leagues case against the pats is that a fat old guy can take a dozen footballs out of a bag and uniformly meter deflate and rebag them in 40 seconds, but 2 league officials and a security guy couldn't meter 8 more footballs without destroying the continuity of a game schedule.  Think about that!

 

7.) When McNally was making his so called theft of the game balls he went to the sitting room with other league officials including those who received the colts initial complaint about football PSI and no one said anything or highlighted anything out of the oridinary. 

 

8.) You can't both defend the accuracy of a PSI gauge being used and then ignore the fact that it was immediately contradicted. 

 

9.) there is no chain of evidence for the PSI of the balls given the fact that the colts have a track record of having needles with game personell, the fact that the game official had two gauges, the fact that even the wells report doesn't think the data was recorded correctly and, surprise surprise, as soon as the data began to show something aside from the idea that the pats intentionally cheated they STOPPED TESTING THE COLTS FOOTBALLS. 

 

If you brought this in a criminal proceeding the prosecutor would be cited for misconduct. 

 

10.) Most importantly, they had McNally's phone and Jastremski's phone I think 48 hours after the AFC championship game.  If there was some darning text from Tom Brady it would have been on one of their devices.  These incessant requests for more interviews and more information are the leagues B.S. cover up for not having concrete proof that the balls were actually DEFLATED to begin with.  This is how witch hunts go.  They accuse you of something, they find no evidence and then you get convicted of perjury because you didn't remember if it was 5 o clock or 6 o clock that you left the office.  They have not proven that the balls were tampered with, so they have to come out with this B.S. about a missed interview and not turning over brady's phone even though they couldn't find any communication on the devices of either of his alleged co conspirators.  If they asked me to produce the texts I had pertaining to the death of Jimmy Hoffa I would have a hard time too!!!

 

In summation, the league ignored blatant recorded violations by the colts, potential violations by its own officials, was oblivious to the fact that game memorabilia was being taken by its own employees and had no protocols in place to safeguard the integrity of game balls or actively manage PSI in inclement weather.  Given all that, the idea that they can take what little evidence they have and bring the hammer down on the premier franchise in American sports is fundamentally mind boggling to me. 

 

Not to mention the fact that in recorded direct violations of the same rules (heating a ball during a cold weather game in front of the sideline heaters) everyone else gets a warning, even though they were directly instructed not to do it pre-game.  The pats, get no written warning, no notification and no concrete evidence that they actually deflated the ball and this is where we are...  unbelievable.

 

All they had to do is say, hey we can't prove anything but we are going to take these three common sense steps to have an NFL ball boy maintain chain of custody over the balls and ensure at the end of each quarter the PSI of the footballs is kept in this range.  But that's not as sexy as putting Tom Terrific in his place so I guess we'll see you in court.
