It was just a random posting to see if someone would post the other half of the audio sample "how can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat." Pink Floyd, kings of abstract music that they were, have some pretty meaningful lyrics. And "The Wall" is a great work of art that is also a lesson in history and glimpse into the mind of someone having a psychotic episode.


I equate the topic in this post to comparing Abstract visual art versus Realism art. Abstract art allows the viewer to experience a part of the overall piece, and relate to it however they may. It may be nothing in form, but appeals in some way to them, or reminds them of something. The same is done with music. The listener may like the beat, or the bass, or maybe just 1 line in the song. And that is enough to make the music desirable to them. It's kind of like when kids are singing "We don't need no education". They don't even know what they are singing about, but they identify with that one line.


This is what art is. The people that did this study obviously have not taken into account old jazz music. Lyrically and musically.
