I think Coughlin's seat would be hotter than Reese's in that scenario. That said, if Coughlin is fired/forcibly retired, Manning's play probably would have a lot to do with it, and it'd be hard for Reese to sell management on keeping Eli around. Even if the Giants do squeak into the playoffs and save Coughlin's job, I think Eli's proven over the years to be inconsistent enough that they strongly consider drafting his eventual replacement in the first couple of rounds next year.
