I dont see what the big deal is.  folks were complaining about James Franklin holding a camp in Georgia last year... and even with all his recent recruiting ties in the south, you know how many kids he pulled from Georgia?  Zero.  Schools up north have been coming down here for years.  They will always be able to cherrypick a few here or there.  But at the end of the day, most kids do what their mama wants... and that's stay close to home.

 

Northern schools dont really have to worry about southern schools running camps up there.  The local state schools(Ohio St, Mich, Penn St, etc...) up there usually get the handful of elite talent.  But there just isnt the depth for other schools to go after.  One of the best stories I remember is Rex Grossman going to Florida.  He kept sending tapes of himself to the school hoping to get an invitation and his high school coach even reached out to the Gators football team.  He asked why they werent looking at Grossman and the response he got back was "We dont recruit Indiana."
