I'm used to lake fishing from private property in VA, so I'm less than novice at fishing NEFL.  About all I know is I need a license (separate salt and fresh), but they don't.  And I don't have access to a boat, either.

 

Any/all advice appreciated, especially with a sense of humor.

 

Since its the first time in NEFL, I'd recommend going to Brown's Fish Camp on Hecksher Drive.  They have a couple of docks out back to fish from.  Until you get the rigging understood, its' always nice to have a bait and tackle shop nearby.  For lunch, they have a food truck out front.  Across the street is an excellent, ultra-casual restaurant called Chowder Ted's.  Both Brown's and Ted's are family owned and operated.

 

There are so many road side fishing spots from on Hecksher Drive.....Dames Point til' Amelia Island.  Fishing the Nassau Sound between Big Talbot Island and Amelia Island is really nice; very nice fishing pier.
