Bowden vs Spurrier vs Jimbo vs Saban vs Urban

Let's see...

Bowden was one of the best recruiters both in terms of player and coaching talent while in his prime. While Urban may be able to compete with Bowden in terms of bringing in playing talent, I think Dad-gum Bobby would probably build a better system. Big knocks on him though because for whatever reason (Wide Right, Wide Left, Wide down the Middle) Bowden had trouble putting away the big game.

If I was running a team, I'd love to have Ol' Ball Coach as my Offensive Coordinator during practices / gameplan development, but then lock him in the equipment room during the game. I am not a fan of Spurrier's playcalling. I've seen him get stubborn way too many times during a game and ending up costing his team dearly for it. But man, could he draw up a passing game.

Jimbo is starting to grow on me. I like how he has seemed to set a good foundation for a solid program that can compete with pretty much any football style that you throw at him. He has had some very good recruiting classes and he seems like he calls a good game. But there's just not enough history for him just yet. Plus, he allows people to call him "Jimbo".

Ol' Nick is as Old School as it gets and I like that he sticks with what he knows, but why all the coaching changes? Why does he just look like a guy that I don't want to have a conversation with? He just seems like a butthead and I really kinda hate buttheads.

Urban knows how to bring in talent and I love how he calls a game. The guy is top notch when it comes to football but he is as slimy as they come. I mean, you bring him in and you know you're going to win, but you're probably also going to have to clean house in about ten years or so.

For me, I'm going with Bowden since he can bring in both kinds of the talent that you need and I'll hope that while he may flub up a few big games, he'll have you in the picture so many times that you'll win a title simply by the Law of Averages.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
