I hate to agree with Jag fans here, but it is very different and isn't even remotely comparable.. Because even if you lose the Super Bowl, when you're playing in the NFC/AFC Championship game you're playing in a Title game and when you win it you're winning a championship..


They hand out hats and T-shirts that say "CHAMPION" to the winning team and give them a trophy to put in their trophy case.. They don't hand out hats, shirts, and reward a trophy to the losing team. If you don't get called "champ" don't raise a banner. It's embarrassing..and it does resemble a participation ribbon.


As far as the other finalist banners Y'all have hanging, never been to the stadium, didn't know that, those are equally strange.. Are the Colts the only team who does this?


Also I don't think you can compare this to the Pats 16-0 banner, teams raise banners all the time to acknowledge great team/player accomplishments.. While they did lose the Super bowl on the greatest hail Mary in NFL history.. They're still one of 2 teams in NFL history to go 16-0 (or had a undefeated regular season, since the Dolphins didn't play a 16 game season), so they acknowledged it. Is losing the conference Championship a rare team accomplishment?.. No, that happens twice every single year.


Not trying to start a argument, its just they aren't comparable.. But, they're up now and you can't take them down, because that would be even more embarrassing.. Just stop putting them up in the future.. It's beneath that franchise which already has a great rich history to stand on.. They don't need to be throwing up participation banners.
