As someone who has gone through the training, I can say without a doubt that enhanced interrogation does work, contrary to whatever politically driven rag states. I had quite a few folks in my group spill the beans during interrogation and mind you, we had a loose understanding of what the weeks would entail. What's the saying...."Everyone is a tough guy until they get punched in the face"! I mean this figuratively in regards to the training. The instructors can easily figure out your life's history without you realizing you said much and then use it against you later. Pretty intimidating when a complete stranger can provide intimate detail about you, your family, and your friends.

 

About the water-boarding, I don't consider it torture, but man will it scare the crap out of you and make you talk!  It gives you a strong feeling of suffocation/drowning without excessive water actually entering the body. If you think your a tough guy or gal and can go on just feeding lies and telling someone what you think they want to hear, you are dead wrong. Trust me.

 

Is uncomfortable heat and cold considered torture? What about extreme embarrassment? Listening to loud metal music when you have a strong disdain for it? What about expired foods? Just a few things to think about as far as interrogation. The point is to take you out of your comfort zone and then try to reel you back in by offer comfort for talking. Results aren't instant, but will come.
