If we don't see measurable and visual improvement in Blake Bortles play by season's end, we should be looking for someone to at least compete for the job.

 

I hope and expect we will see a considerable step up from him.  Last year was the typical Jaguars..  his talents were not enhanced by the supporting cast (mostly coaching).  Lots of Qb's have crummy O-lines among other handicaps.

 

The team is on his shoulders.  Either he can handle it, or not.  And we will know by season's end.  The top tier Qb's all demonstrate playmaking ability, and the ability to make something out of nothing.  I think he can do it, but I have concerns he just doesn't have the life experience at the position to make the natural long throws, or the touch passes such as the fade or screen as a method to relieve the ever-present blitz pressure.

 

More than one capable Qb is an essential with the 16 game schedule.  Henne is a liability, and is likely hurting BB's development.
