One Play Questions

#4

Quote:I couldn't think of a memorable play against the Texans when I first made the post, but I have to say the Hail Mary to Mike Thomas would qualify as memorable.  As I type now, I still don't know if that is the one play that sufficiently encapsulates the rivalry between the teams, but to me it is certainly the most memorable.  THE Pro Football Hall of Fame does, too, because they have Thomas' gloves on display.  That represents one of the few times in NFL history a game was decided on a Hail Mary.

If I had to pick a play that encapsulates the rivalry with the Tacks...and it sickens me to type this....it was the McNair scramble in the title game.  For some reason, Haynesworth's body slam of MJD also leaps to mind.

MJD had so many exciting plays, it is difficult for me to name a favorite of his.  The block on Merriman stands out to me, but I think my favorite of his was his kickoff return against the Colts in the 375 yard game.

The River City Relay had two improbable aspects of it.  First, the play itself was just like the legendary end of the Cal-Stanford game of 1982.  You knew what they had to do to have a shot to win, you knew they would try it, but sitting in the stands watching them pull it off was unbelievable.  But to have them follow that up by missing the extra point defied explanation.

Yeah, the hail Mary catch was memorable at the time, but thanks to the season it occurred in and the player that made the catch it's hard for it to stick out. The Jaguars ended up doing nothing, losing out and going for 8-5 to 8-8 and missing the playoffs because the team just didn't have a QB that could actually win games. Even a hobbled Manning on a bad team was good enough to stick it to the Jaguars at the end of that season.

The tacks, the only plays I can recall against them are bad ones or ones that really weren't consequential. I recall Taylor's run that put him over 10000 yards, but it wasn't a special play, and while there were some years that the Jaguars were beating the tacks, all of the memorable plays against them are bad, and I don't want to think of the tacks really at all. I just feel hatred when I do.
