This is what I've been thinking the NFL's end game would be for a long time. The 17th game would be a win-win-win.


The league would get the extra revenue for having an extra game and spreading its brand.


The teams would get extra revenue and still get to have 8 regular season home games.


The player will feel like it's a win since they know the league is pushing for an 18 game schedule. They also will have their contracts go up by over 6% for the extra game. If they're smart they'd also push for a second bye week to go with agreeing to the extra game.




Furthermore, if this 17th game happens I don't think London would get all the games. I think they will be spread out all over the world and even some American cities that don't have a team. I'm thinking games will go to places like London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, Berlin, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Mexico City, Rio, Sydney and American cities like San Antonio, Portland, Memphis, Birmingham, Orlando, Oklahoma City. I know some of these cities have stadium issues (i.e., Birmingham) but I'm thinking 5 - 7 years from now when those issues might be resolved. I could see these cities bidding to host these games like college bowl games. The NFL would make tons.
