A lot of British fans are very knowledgeable about the game. They're less likely to be casual, just-because fans, because if they were just looking for a team to casually support they'd most likely have picked a local team in a local sport. These are people who go out of their way to follow a sport that's only really played four thousand miles away on a different continent. You can be pretty sure they know the difference in quality between preseason and regular season games.
