The defense being ahead of the offense is nothing unusual this early on.  Especially with a new offense being installed, and an entirely new coaching staff to get accustomed to.  I liked the way Olson managed practice for the offense.  I thought it was a good tempo to get started, and you can already see there's going to be an emphasis on getting the ball down the field.  You'll still see the more efficient passing with the dink and dunk stuff, but they did put the ball down the field quite a few times today with mixed success.

 

Lee was frustrated, and I'm not really picking on him.  The guy has been out with an injury, so the rust is to be expected.  What pleased me was that he didn't just fall apart out there.  He continued to work on it, and things did improve for him as practice progressed.  For him, most of the struggles are about a lack of reps at this point.  You can see the kid has talent. 

 

Sterling is a big guy who moves extremely well.  It'll be interesting to see how they use him in the preseason because if he has the hands, he could be another big target for Bortles who can actually move. 

 

Gerhart had a good practice.  It's tough to evaluate the RBs in these practices because the pads aren't on, and contact is extremely limited.  We know what he can bring to the table, and anyone who recognizes he played most of last year injured and understands how that impacted his game will give him another opportunity to prove himself.  WIth the rotation we have currently, he's a weapon both as a back and as a receiver coming out of the backfield.  He just needs to stay healthy.

 

I thought Yeldon and Robinson both looked okay.  Nothing spectacular, but again, it's not about that as much as it is just watching how they approach and attack the line, and how they move on the field.  Yeldon looks like the part he's being asked to play.  He's going to be your primary back.  He's not flashy or explosive.  Robinson looks better this camp than he did last season.  He's clearly working on things, but he's still got a ways to go.  We'll see more of where he's at when we get to the first preseason game.  He can jitter bug out there all day long.  How will he look when he's getting hit?  We'll see.

 

The first team offensive line had a few mishaps during practice, but overall they did okay.  It's day 1, so I wasn't expecting some dynastic front 5 out there.  This is the first time they've worked together as a unit.  It takes time to develop that chemistry.

Based on practice today, Marshall.  The guy flies.  He's a project, but watching him jump the route and get that pick 6 was pretty darn impressive for someone who is relatively new to the role.

Harbor at this point.  When they lined up in 3 TE sets, he was the third guy out there with Marcedes and Julius.
