The judge is NY is presumed to be a little more favorable to the union, as he was appointed by a Democrat (Bill Clinton), but no one really has a clue. It seems, so far, that he wants this resolved by the parties working it out rather than full judicial style hearing.

This is what I heard. There was a lawyer on I believe the Dan Patrick show talking about this. He said the NFL preemptively filed in NY to get a more favorable judge because they believed Brady would file in MN.

 

He also stated that he personally sided with Brady but he thought the courts would favor the NFL because the Federal Court has little interest in overturning arbitration if they believe due diligence was done in process. That would be a hard case for Brady to prove due to the amount of investigating the NFL has done and the detailed reports they have filed.
