Robinson was covered from the snap. The safety went deep to cover Robinson and #22 was following him, so the read would have been to go underneath to JT.

 

#22 didn't break on JT until Bortles cocked to throw. He is reading the QB. If Bortles had thrown to Robinson, #22 would have never cut back to JT. He would have stayed with Robinson and the pass would have ended up in double coverage.

 

JT took about 4 steps before he was hit, so it is not like he lead him into the collision. #22 just reacted quickly and made the play. That's what happens in the NFL. Players will make good plays. In a game of inches, you sometimes have to take the two yards that are available and leave yourself with a manageable 3rd and 4.

 

JT just landed wrong and broke his finger. That could have happened in the most mundane of football situations.
