And I wouldn't really worry about poll numbers this early. They mean virtually nothing. As the media has made clear numerous times, past high poll numbers this early and the eventual nominee are just coincidental.

 

   Before the Presidential Campaign,  most people probably didn't even pay attention to what Ted Cruz said.   Sadly,  most people probably never heard of him or didn't remember his name if they saw him on the news.

 

   Now is the time that Ted Cruz truly needs the air time.   If as expected he continues to do what I believe is right,   that will earn him airtime.   The left might actually give him airtime thinking that he's so far to the right from their perspective that the airtime will hurt him.    I certainly hope this is their strategy.    

 

  The benefit to being higher in the polls at this time is it increases the chances of getting more campaign contributions.   The greatest obstacle candidates far down in the polls have is many people are unwilling to give them campaign contributions because they believe they can't win.    My personal approach has been to support who I believe is the best candidate.   Even though in most of those cases I didn't have confidence the candidate would win,   having that person's voice in the campaign was worth the investment.
