I agree, Geno said he was going to pay him back and he really should have done so, especially since he already had a little confrontation earlier about this and knew the guy was not happy about Geno not paying him back.

 

If Geno could not afford the whole $600 at once, he should have at least given him a portion of it and made arrangements to pay back the rest as he was able.

 

Geno could have easily avoided this whole situation, but didn't.
