Understand he is rolling against his arm to the left on the play.  It would have been quite difficult and likely foolish for him to stop and throw back across the field to a back side pattern.

 

I'm not fully prepared to assign blame to Bortles unless I know he had better options.

 

All22 not up yet for this game. Usually takes at least 24 hrs for them to add that feature after broadcast.  Not even sure they do it for preseason - but I'll check late tonight or tomorrow AM.

 

His other options were Marcedes over the middle but a bit more "covered" than Thomas and Allen Robinson down the sideline (roll-out side) - but it was that corner who initially was stride for stride with Robinson but looked back anticipating the TE pass and made the low hit. Robinson was covered till the CB saw Bortles looking at Thomas. 

 

Giving AR15 a jump ball to the sideline could be argued as a better option there.  He either goes up and gets it or its likely just incomplete.  Still -- I don't think the pass to JT was so wrong. The CB made a nice move to get there quick and JT landed awkwardly.  It happens.
