Going back and watching some of the games late last season it's clear he was pushing the ball more then throwing it, which is a sign his arm was dead.

 

In an interview, Bortles said one of the things Tom House taught him was how to properly warm up.  Bortles never knew how to do that and said that contributed to his arm fatiguing last season and the warm up process makes a huge difference.
