Sergio Brown has a "firm lock" on the Jaguars' starting free safety job. As expected. Brown was never facing much competition from Josh Evans and Matt Daniels, but coach Gus Bradley praised Brown after the Jaguars' second preseason game. After playing 531 snaps for Indianapolis last season, Brown will be an every-down player for the Jaguars next to SS Johnathan Cyprien. Brown will focus on covering the back end, allowing Cyprien to play close to the line. ------------------------- One thing I like about HC Gus Bradley if a player proves he's good on the field he gets to start even if he is undrafted such as Hurns (and hopefully Grant), of course Brown was expected to start so... |
