What other reason could they have for keeping him around? He's Gabbert without the high draft pick baggage. The only reason he's still here that makes any sense is because they want to make Bortles as comfortable as possible, which at this point might be important enough of a reason to pay a guy that can't really play the position millions of dollars as a backup at that position. At least that's the only line of reasoning I can think of that makes sense. Either that or Caldwell is a moron, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
