Oh, I agree completely. Given the use of the term "marriage", extending that right to same-sex unions was a necessary step. I do wish, though, that the decision that had come down was that the use of the term "marriage" in governmental context is unconstitutional, as the word has been historically associated with religious ceremonies and customs. A change of all government-recognized unions between two people to "civil union" terminology would have been my preferred outcome.
