His going to another team ultimately was a decision by the Cowboys GM. They certainly could have been more patient with him, and if they were one could only imagine the results. The Cowboys released Jimmy after the '93 season while he was still under contract as a first round pick. Had they simply been more patient, they could have had a perennial pro bowler on their roster for a decade to come. The Cowboys won Super Bowl XXX in '95 while Jimmy was just starting to be noticed with the Jaguars, but in more than a decade to follow they only won their division twice and they've never won the NFC conference title since. Jimmy just might have drastically altered their future, and all it would have taken was a little more patience with their first round pick.
