Kubiak and Elway go way back. Kubiak was Elway's backup for a long time, then his offensive coordinator. Let's not forget that Kubiak had some success with the Texans, particularly when he had a decent quarterback in Schaub. If anyone's going to know what Kubiak is capable of, it's Elway.


Frankly, I don't think Kubiak was hired to coach Peyton Manning. I think he was hired to reshape the offense in preparation for the next guy, whether that's Brock Osweiler or someone to be signed/drafted next year. You've got to admit that even though the new Broncos offense is a poor fit for Manning, it could be very good with a quarterback not named Peyton.

If that was the case then Elway shouldn't have brought back Manning at all. Move forward with Kubiak's offense and Osweiler as your QB.


Kubiak forcing Manning to play in his offense looks exactly how most thought it would, awkward and not for Manning.


I'm guessing very soon that the Broncos will scrap Kubiak's offense soon hand it back over to Manning.


I would much rather have a diminished Manning in his comfort zone than a diminished Manning doing something new and uncomfortable.
