Poor talent acquisition - I covered this a little in the "one dimensional" statement above, but this is more along the lines of drafting and Free Agency over recent years. Now, I don't follow Indianapolis all that much, but I do know that the past Grigson First Round draft picks have been spent on Bjorn Werner, Trent Richardson, and Phillip Dorsett. While it's unreasonable to expect Dorsett to produce this early in his career from his position, Richardson isn't in the League any longer and I can't remember when the last time I saw Werner play.
 

 

 

At the time they signed him, I thought Gore was finished, though he had a good game last night absent the fumble.  Andre Johnson has had a hall of fame career, but he's done.  At this point, I think Indy needs to focus more on developing Moncrief, who I think can be a good WR.  I sincerely hope their OL represents a HUGE weakness for this team.

 

Woerner played last night and didn't have much impact.  The announcers even labeled him "a disappointment."

 

I still think Indy should have drafted Malcom Brown or Eddie Goldman in the first.  It wouldn't have fixed the OL, but it would have helped the defense.

 

Oh well.
