You're absolutely right, costs are out of control. But the solutions put forward will not solve the problems, they merely transfer more and more control to the government. Just like with this pricing issue, the solution isn't go make a better product, it's get the government to make them charge less. It doesn't address the chief problem, in this case, the problem is that a 50 year old product doesn't have a generic equivalent.
