How good is Blake Bortles?

Quote:We have a new owner going into his fourth season and a new regime going into its third. Sure its been sad that we haven't been a contender since like 2007, but the new regime doesn't exactly have a time machine to change the past. At this point the best way to work back into contention soon is to stay the coarse unless we end up looking at yet another season of five or less wins. If that turns out to be the case then it will be several more years again because we'd basically have to start over. I'm sincerely hoping for and predicting a win this Sunday so we can actually start talking about the possibility of taking over the division. I agree that nothing can be done until after the season. At that time Khan should have enough information as to whether or not to continue with Bradley and Caldwell. I personally think that Caldwell has done a fine job after a poor start in 2013. My only complaint is that he's not very aggressive in seeking out trades. Had he traded down (say) ten slots he could have gotten players equivalent to Joeckel and Fowler, and netted some extra draft picks. But he has hit on a lot of picks. The 2014 draft was a great success. Even if Bortles never develops the Jags have three players with Pro Bowl potential in Robinson, Linder, and Telvin, and three other starter-level players in Lee, Colvin, and Bowanko. OTOH, Bradley seems to be a poor head coach. Even in the bad years under JDR, at least other teams would comment on how physical the Jags were. The Patriots destroyed the Jags. In the end when Brady was still in running up the score the Jags players just went about business as usual. Nothing to see here, move along. Bradley has wussified the team. Is a division title too much to expect when the other 3 teams are badly lacking in talent? Do you think there's much of a chance with Bradley? How about if our head coach was ___________ ? I could fill in a few names where I'd expect a much better W-L record with the same personnel we have now. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" |
