This could lead to 4, maybe more, international neutral site cities (London, Berlin, Mexico City and Tokyo come to mind as they have all hosted preseason games in the past I believe) that would each host 4 games (or less if there are more than 4 neutral sites) which would total 16 neutral site games which would cover all 32 teams.


Whenever the topic of neutral site games gets brought up on NFL media outlets like SiriusXM radio, I'm always a little shocked this broader view doesn't get much traction or even get discussed at all.

 

  I like the foundation of what you mentioned.  

 

 One concern though is the travel time to Tokyo.   In the regular season,  that would even be more pronounced.   That much more for teams in the Eastern and even Central Time Zones. 

 

  I gladly admit one of my motivations for this type of plan is it would lessen the chances of playoff expansion.   W/o an increase in the regular season games,  I have little hope about the playoffs remaining the way they currently are.
