The Giant Fire Gus & Dave Thread (MERGED)

Quote:You post an article that outlines the comments quite well. Show me where either Dave or Gus said the team was going to compete for the division. I've read it twice. It's built means the team should be more competitive, and that this should ultimately turn into more wins. Nothing about competing for the division this year, but read into it what you must. "Bradley said as much during the team’s annual kickoff luncheon earlier this month, when he said he told his players during a meeting just before training camp that the objective was to build a team that owns the AFC South. "It’s built, and it’s time, and our players need to have that mentality," he said." Says as much right here. "Last year we were competitive," Caldwell said. "We were in 14 of 16 games at halftime/third quarter. Well now hopefully with the influx of talent, with some more experience with our players playing a year, going into year three, maybe those three-point games or those four-point games are going to swing into our favor and then you get on a little bit of a roll." Right out of Caldwell's mouth. We're still losing those kind of games. Nothing is changing. "Even the loss of first-round pick Dante Fowler Jr. (torn ACL), injuries to tight end Julius Thomas (hand) and defensive end Andre Branch (knee), and the fact defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks is not yet ready to return from a torn ACL aren’t dampening hopes." From the team writer who I'm assuming has more access what the coaches are saying behind the scenes than the average fan. By the way I'm reading that injuries are no excuse. And if you think that the outcome of yesterday's game wouldn't be any worse with Andrew Luck playing, all I have to say to that is 161-43. That's the point differential between these 2 teams against Luck.
