His first year was also when free agents were probably not real interested in coming to Jax. It took a couple seasons for us to be seen as a spot where FA might actually want to go (for the right price) 

And even still Jax is perceived as being bottom barrel, and guys like McCourty and Cobb would rather take less dollars and try for a ring.
